87 Explorers is an opportunity to be part of something new and unique in Hull.
Being an Explorer means you will discover, investigate, collaborate, and make exciting art in a professional gallery.
Kids ages 7-16 can gather weekly with us in our unique Studio, where they will have exclusive after-hours access to our exhibitions, and can get involved in a hands-on way.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Weekly sessions exploring traditional processes and new technologies including CGI, photography, video and sound, sculpture, drawing, and more
The chance to gain an Arts Award qualification
Unique creative experiences online, on site, and across the city
Collaboration with local and national artists and designers
The opportunity to gain first hand knowledge from artists and professionals about what it’s like to have a creative career
A supportive environment to make friends and share your interests
Support to develop and boost GCSE and A-Level/Level 3 portfolios
Opportunities to showcase work in exhibitions and presentations

Teachers and students - would you enjoy spending an afternoon, or an evening after-school with us at 87 Gallery?
A school visit to 87 Gallery is an opportunity for students to tell us more about what they would like to see being made more available in the city, and which art subjects, techniques and processes they would be interested in learning, to help us in continuing to shape and improve our offer for young people and the wider community in Hull and the East Riding.
