PROCESS AND THE SELFIE
I print photographs as part of my sketchbook exploration process. The prints were made in the darkroom at Hull College, where I am studying Fine Art. I take photographs of myself when I am alone, and I like the ambiguous qualities of some reflective surfaces or cameras obscuring the face.
I think about practice as everything I do, and everything I have done - therefore, the self.
My process is to put everything in a book - photographs are taken and exist to be put in a book. The books represent the self I want to portray. I kept a diary long before I thought about art. I see the photos here as a record of the moment, but also the time inbetween taking the photo - having the photo processed - printing the photo - putting the photo in a book.
