βThe interaction between myself and the AI is very much a send-and-receive, give-and-take relationship. I do some of the labor as data science, curating and collecting, scraping and formatting text that can be fed into the AI as training data. Then my co-writer mulls over it, chewing one character at a time and trying to figure out the probabilities of different arrangements of letters and words. Once it finishes training, generates the requested samples, and returns novel text to me, I set to work again as the curator and editor, picking out and rearranging the fragments as is poetically necessary.β
The source text to create kurz poem 1 was the full text of the book How to Create a Mind: The Secret of Human Thought Revealed by Ray Kurzweil (655 KB) and kurz poem 1 was extracted from 50 samples of 500-character length generated at temperature 1.0.
